Introduction

The International Conference on Asian Language Processing (IALP) is the flagship conference of the Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS). It is a series of conferences with a unique focus on Asian Language Processing. The conference aims to advance the science and technology of all the aspects of Asian Language Processing by providing a forum for researchers in the different fields of language study to meet. IALP conference series has a long history, which dates back to its first event ICCC in 1986. Over the decades, the IALP conference has developed into one of the important conferences on Language Processing conference in Asia. Since 2008, IALP has traveled to many Asian cities including Chiang Mai (2008), Singapore (2009), Harbin (2010), Penang (2011), Hanoi (2012), Urumqi (2013), Kuching (2014), Suzhou(2015), Tainan(2016), Singapore(2017), Bandung(2018), Shanghai(2019), Kuala Lumpur (2020, online), Singapore (2021, online), Singapore and Shenzhen(2022) and Singapore (2023) . It has greatly helped to promote the research of Asian Language Processing in the region. COLIPS has been in collaboration with IEEE in the organization of the conferences. IEEE Singapore and other local chapters have served as technical co-sponsors. The proceedings have been published by IEEE since 2009.

IALP 2024 will be held on 4-6 August 2024 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. The event will be organized by Inner Mongolia University, China and Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS), Singapore. The event is technically sponsored by IEEE Singapore SMC Chapter. We cordially invite you to submit papers to this year’s event. The topics of the conference cover all aspects of Asian Language Processing, including, but not limited to natural language processing, spoken language processing, linguistics, language education, etc. Accepted papers will be presented in one of the oral sessions or poster sessions as determined by the program committee.
